Here’s how each team is rated by my Elo ratings system at the end of the 2017 home-and-away season: Sydney is the best team in the league, according to Elo. But this doesn’t mean that the Swans should be favourites to win the flag! Because they finished sixth, they have a harder finals draw than a number of teams that aren’t as fancied by Elo. I’ll start projecting the finals next week.
